The Human Advantage Summit on October 16th, 2026 [1]

[2]

Curious about what skills are needed after college? On October 16th, Continuing Education will be hosting The Human Advantage Summit, a professional development conference designed to help students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals develop “soft skills” valued by employers. This conference will focus on developing professional communication skills, outlining strategies for meaningful workplace relationships, and increasing confidence through hands-on experience navigating realistic workplace situations. Registration is free for all LSUS students.

Participants will gain career expertise from keynote speaker Matthew Hammock, a former LSUS baseball athlete and current member of the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission. Interactive breakout sessions will provide opportunities to gain valuable insight from Hammock, as well as from esteemed LSUS faculty members Dr. Rebecca Bogie, Dr. Stephanie Dunn, and representatives from Career Services. After these breakout sessions, attendees will be able to participate in an “Action Lab”, a fast-paced reflection designed to help participants process and implement the knowledge they have gained. Networking opportunities will be available throughout the conference.

The Human Advantage Summit will take place from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Coffee, refreshments, and a formal lunch will be provided. The last day to register for the Human Advantage Summit is October 15th.
