Rush Week Unfolds: Phi Mu and Lambda Nu Chi Recruitment at LSUS [1]

Rush week, also known as recruitment week, is a process where students explore Greek life and meet different sororities before receiving invitations, known as bids, to join. Greek life rushing gives potential new members the chance to learn about each chapter’s values, traditions, and sisterhood through a week of events.

At LSUS, two sororities are leading this year’s fall rush: Phi Mu and Lambda Nu Chi. Phi Mu, a part of LSUS since 1984, will host events such as Mocktails with Mu’s, Fun and Games with Phi’s, and “Plant Your Roots in Phi Mu,” alongside philanthropy night, preference round, and bid day. Lambda Nu Chi will feature Paint & Pass, Coffee with the Chi’s, speed dating, philanthropy night, interviews, and bid day.

Rushing has grown in visibility with social media like TikTok, where “Get Ready With Me” videos for rush days give an inside look at preparation and excitement of it all. Sororities also join in on trending dances and creative posts, helping showcase their sisterhood and making recruitment more engaging and accessible for students.
