Gold Digger by Kanye West is one of his biggest songs, having 1.3 billion streams on Spotify alone. The song, released in 2005, was massive for Kanye West, spending 5 weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard top 100 and spending 10 weeks on the list as a whole. It was also the first of 5 Kanye songs to reach the number one spot.
Funnily enough, Jamie Foxx nearly never made the famous song because he did not enjoy his first interaction with Kanye. Kanye approached him to feature on Slow Jamz, and Jamie did not believe the project would succeed based on the direction Kanye gave him.
His attitude quickly switched when the song reached the number one spot on the Billboard chart. Shortly after reaching number one, Foxx’s friend invited him to an impromptu studio session where he created his feature for Gold Digger on the spot.
